Cholesterol does not cause heart disease!

Chlolesterol does not cause heart disease any more than firemen cause house fires! In fact that analogy (the relationship between them) is appropriate, i.e., cholesterol is the body's firemen (or Bandaid), and cholesterol levels go up in response to the damage that has already occured to the arteries as a result of oxidation, etc. Please read The Cholesterol Myths, by Ravnskov. He is a top expert on the subject.

There is a lot of money at stake in the "war on cholesterol". If you think "Drug X may be right for you!", think twice. The whole class of anti-cholesterol drugs (called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) is dangerous to your health!

I would be happy to blog away about this!
